  • Principal Investigator: Xiao Sun, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
  • Start Date: August 5, 2009
  • Total Award Amount: $195,000

Public Health Relevance

Project Narrative Insulin resistance is a major pathophysiological problem in many diseases, notably type 2 diabetes; however, the molecular mechanism of insulin resistance is largely unknown. This project uses state-of-art techniques and seeks to identify key molecules in mediating hepatic insulin resistance. The results of this study will enhance understanding of the molecular mechanism of insulin resistance.
